
Description:
Cleveland Sandstone is quarried from the Berea Sandstone
formation in Northern Ohio. It has a medium grain structure
and two distinct color ranges: Birmingham Buff (light/ medium
buff) and Amherst Grey (light/medium gray). The Quartz-Silica
composition of this stone gives it an enduring, abrasive, nonslip
surface and a resistance to the elements of today's urban
environment.

Absorption: 1,177 psi (ASTM C99-87)
Bulk Specific Gravity: 2,153 kg/rn (ASTM C97-90)
Density: 145 lbs/cubic ft.

Applications:
Cleveland Sandstone is an excellent structural and paving
stone. Since the mid-1800's, it has graced buildings as a
veneer and in columns, arches, lintels and sills. It also has a
proven track record as an excellent material for sidewalks
and curbstones.
