
Description:
Ohio Blue Sandstone is a fine-grained sandstone from the Scioto
Formation in Southern Ohio. It's tight grain structure and clean
appearance distinguishes it from other fabricated sandstones.
There are two colors of this stone: Buff (a yellowish brown)
and Blue (a grayish blue). Ohio Sandstone is easily carved for
custom detailing and keeps a crisp detail edge.
Characteristics:
Compressive Strength: 15,900 psi
Modulus of Rupture: 3,500 psi
Absorption: 0.2%
Bulk Specific Gravity: 2.24
Density: 140 lbs/cubic ft.

Applications:
Ohio Blue Sandstone is often used for building detailing such as
sills, lintels, quoins and coping. Columns and similar structural
components are possible if the limitations of block size are
factored in.
